The village of Kommetjie lies on a long stretch of white sand beach, and although only half an hour from Cape Town, it feels a world away from just about everywhere. The Last Word have a selection of small boutique hotels spread across the Cape region and Long Beach is their offering on the Cape Peninsula, in Kommetjie. Everything is done to maximise the views over that sandy beach and Atlantic beyond it, so the lodge has a very open, airy and spacious feel. The décor is that of an upmarket beach house, and the atmosphere is similarly relaxed and informal.
