Madikwe Safari Lodge is located in the far north of the reserve in an area with fewer lodges than many other parts of the reserve, which makes for a more exclusive safari experience. Packed-earth flooring and walls, thatched roofs and exposed, gnarled wooden beams firmly root the lodge in Africa. The twenty suites are actually split over three different camps, so each camp feels very intimate and private. Strung along a hillside, the suites and airy public spaces all enjoy views down onto the plains and across to distant ridges, a fantastic vista with no sign of human habitation. Madikwe Safari Lodge is part of the More Hotels group, who own, amongst others, Lion Sands in the Kruger and More Quarters in Cape Town: their Madikwe operation is run to the same high standards of accommodation, service and friendliness!
