Like its sister property, Leopard Hills in the Sabi Sands, Madikwe Hills occupies a hilltop location not far from one of the major dams in the reserve, a popular destination for all manner of game. The décor is refined and has a bit of a north African feel to it: pastel coloured packed-earth walls, dark wooden furniture and soft linen throws help create this feel. Parts of the lodge are built around underlying rock outcrops, giving a very organic feel, and the food is absolutely superb.
