A short distance from Rorke’s Drift you find the game reserve of Isibindi Zulu Lodge. Drawing its influence from Zulu architecture, your suite will be a stand alone traditional thatched beehive. Inside you’ll have all the modern comforts, and a simple, rustic ambience. Whilst you can go for game drives or walks within the reserve, the real focus is on the key battles of the Anglo-Zulu war, Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, and guided tours are available (at an additional cost). Isibindi is also keen to promote Zulu heritage, and you can visit a nearby Zulu village, as well as enjoying Zulu traditional food and dancing at the lodge. Isibindi is the most affordable of the lodges we recommend in The Battlefields, another good reason to consider it.
