Day 1
Fly overnight to Cape Town.
Day 2
Collect your hire car on arrival OR be met by one of our representatives and start with four nights in Cape Town. Cape Town has got a huge range of wonderful hotels, from grand, luxurious affairs, to smaller, more characterful guesthouses and B&Bs.
Day 3
There’s a wide range of excursions in and around the city which will easily fill your time here. Robben Island and Table Mountain are two of the city's icons and form a great day's combination. Cape Town is also blessed with numerous incredible restaurants and we’d be happy to make some recommendations and reserve tables for you.
Day 4
Spend a full day exploring the beautiful Cape Peninsula. The beauty of the peninsula is as much in the uncovered corners and beaches as it is in the more famous highlights like Cape Point and the penguins of Boulder’s Beach.
Day 5
Perhaps take an Uthando Philanthropic Cultural Tour to learn more about the townships and how people are seeking to improve their lot there. Or alternatively you might like to explore the Winelands in the company of legendary guide Pietman Retief.
Day 6
Combine your drive to the Winelands with visits to one or two estates on the way. Spend two nights here.
Day 7
Explore the Winelands on your own, or take a tour with our favourite raconteur and wine buff, Pietman Retief. Definitely try to get to small Camberley or wonderful Waterford for its Chocolate & Wine pairings.
Day 8
Drop the hire car at Cape Town Airport and fly to your safari destination (the Eastern Cape, Kruger and Madikwe are all reachable within a day). Private transfer from the airport to your lodge for a three night stay.
Days 9-10
Safari is hugely exciting, with game drives getting you incredibly close to the big game, and bush walks introducing you to the smaller residents of the bush.
Day 11
Private transfer back to the airport for your flight home (via Johannesburg).

If you only go to three places on your trip to South Africa, then they should be Cape Town, The Winelands and a safari lodge. Cape Town is a world-class city with an amazing location, superb hotels and a great vibe, and should be the cornerstone of any visit to South Africa. The Winelands, as well as offering beautiful and historic vineyards to visit and wines to taste, is also one of the prettiest parts of the country and boasts outstanding restaurants, making it the ideal place to relax and indulge yourself a bit. Finally a few days on safari is the ultimate in excitement, as you head out each day into the bush to see what close encounters await with Africa’s big game.
